The Parliamentary Commission of Productive Activities pass the “public
space” concept for the first time, a law amend the government says will
protect public spaces that have been damaged in the past 20 years by
private constructions.
But the MPs of the majority say that the freeing of public spaces must start with the coastline, where more than 100 kilometers of seaside territory has been surrounded by walls as private owners.
Artan Gaci, Socialist MP, said that the owners who have received huge areas and have turned into businessmen with public properties, must at least remove the surrounding walls.
Another discussion was about the turning of private lands into public property, and the risk of violating the property rights with concessions.
