Rakipi, was involved in a fatal car accident, fatally running over a
53-year-old this morning at 04:40 am, near the Rinas overpass in Tirana.
The victim has tried to cross the road when he was ran over by MP Rakipi, who left the scene to hand himself over at the police 10 minutes later.
It seems that the victim had just left a van, together with two other persons.
Sources say that Rakipi didn’t appear to have consumed alcoholic beverage, but there are doubts that he was driving above the speed limit.
The pedestrian overpass was just 200 meters away from the scene. The MP of the PJIU is still at the Police precinct.
