MP Ben Blushi made it official that he and Mimoza Hafizi are leaving the
Socialist Party, and they may create a new political initiative.

“We have decided to leave a political group that refuses to elect. The ‘Reviva’ decided to have no more elections in the Socailist Party, and they even decided to chose with a referendum what they would treat as a case, not as a person. Mrs.Hafizi and I are not the first ones, not even the last ones to do so. We are leaving on our free will a private enterprise that doesn’t respect any other norm. We decided to join thousands of other Albanians who believe that the country needs a new political class”, Blushi declared from the Parliament.

He said that the Socialist Party returned planting of cannabis into a state policy, and that cannabis is today the only economic policy in which the SP had some success.

Another Socialist MP, Taulant Balla, accused Bushi of never being a Socialist and that he needs to return his mandate.

“You have abandoned the Socialists in every single battle. We don’t make anyone leave. Let’s see how much Albanians love and respect you. We want you to return your mandate”, Balla said.

Blushi reacted by saying that he would not ruin the solemnity of this day by spending time to answer to a Socialist, whose bid for the past two years has been to insult Blushi.
