Mother and baby die during childbirth, relatives accuse hospital

Relatives say they sent her to the maternity last night, but were then sent to the Cardiology of Tirana University Hospital, then to the Sanatorium, and then back to the maternity again, while the mother’s health was getting worse.

Doctors in the maternity had verified the child had died and they took the mother in the operation room to remove the child’s body, but then the mother died too.

Relatives blame the hospital for delays, starting from the lack of proper transportation, absence of personnel, closed operation room and even absence of stretchers, oxygen, etc. 

Police has seized the registration files while the Director of the Maternity, Rubena Moisiu, confirmed that they are making all proper verifications.
