Three children of six, four and two years of age, who were found this
Wednesday in the Albanian capital, were sheltered in the National Center
of Traffic Victims, in Linze.

Police said that they were able to find a temporary residence in this state-managed institution while verifying the circumstances of the abandonment by their mother. After keeping the children in the premises of Tirana Police Department no. 4, the agents decided to sent them to Linze, while preliminary investigation suggest that their mother has left for Kosovo.

They cannot be sent in a specialized institution for children, since the procedures need the signature of the parents, in case they want to abandon them. Police suspects that the purpose of their mother in her trip to Kosovo is the involvement in a prostitution network. Violeta Kala, the mother of the three children has been sentenced in the past on prostitution charges, and after prison she rented a house in Tirana. According to the testimony of the biggest child, the-six-old girl, they have been living with their father for some time, who has officially accepted the paternity of the third child, the two-year-old boy.

Police hopes to find the citizen Violeta Kala with the cooperation of the Kosovo police, which is searching in some hotels in Prizren and Prishtina. The father has not appeared to take the children, although he doesn’t seem to have crossed the Albanian border.

The children were left temporarily to a friend of their mother, who then left the children and their clothes near Police Department 4. Police declared that they searched the house rented by their mother, but found no evidence suggesting that someone had been living there in the last days.
