More water discharged in Fierze

The Albanian Power Corporation (KESH) is still discharging water from the
Fierza, Koman and Vau i Dejes Hydropower Plants since this Saturday at
17:00, due to the heavy rains that accumulated excessive levels of water
recently.

KESH says that they are following the situation at the Fierza Lake with concern, which has collected water reserves in the alarming level of 296.41 meters above the sea level.

According to KESH, the water at the Fierza basin is coming with a flow of 640 cubic meters per second, and they are discharing at 200 m³s.  The HPP is working with four aggregates and is producing 455 MW.

The Koman HPP reached the 173.19 meters level. KESH says that the flow at Fierza is now at 886 m³s while the side flow goes up to 234 m³s.

The discharges at the main gates are currently at 300 m³s. The Koman HPP is working with 4 aggregates and the production reached 500 MW. Vau i Dejes reached the 74.24 m level and is working with 5 aggregates, producing 230 MW.

The accumulated water in the two other HPPs arrived with a 1085 m³s flow, while the side flow was with 40 m³s. The discharge at the gate is currently at 400 m³s.

KESH says that they are monitoring the situation, explaining that this situation is being accompanied by floods in Nenshkodra, causing large damage to the residents.
