Sundays in Tirana are full of tourists who challenge the heat to visit Albania’s capital and its attractions, while most of Tirana’s residents leave for the countryside or the sea.
A group of tourists praise the religious co-existence, when asked by Top Channel: “It’s the eighth time we visit Albania. We wanted to see the mosque, but it is closed today. We will visit the Cathedral”, an Italian tourist said.
Another group of tourists, this time from Greece, enter the cathedral and visit the Skanderbeg square.
A Dutch touris is visiting the country for the first time after 34 years, and she can see the differences with the communist era.
“I was here in 1984. A lot has changed. There were no cars back then, no shops. We were guarded all the time. There is a lot of traffic now. Everything has changed”, the Dutch tourist says.
