The EU High Representative, Federica Mogherini, will not follow the
routine of a normal political agenda. She will meet with the Albanian
President, Bujar Nishani, Prime Minister Rama, Parliament Speaker Ilir
Meta, but not with the opposition leader, Lulzim Basha.

Official sources said for Top Channel that the opposition leader is not part of Mogherini’s agenda, who is visiting Tirana in an abnormal political situation.

No one has given any reason why Mogherini has excluded Basha, and international relation experts said for Top Channel that this is not usual.

Albania has been visited twice in the past four years by a EU Foreign Minister, Catherine Ashton in 2013 and Mogherini in 2016. In all cases, they have met both the government and opposition leaders.

However, to give a message that she isn’t excluding the opposition, Mogherini has foreseen a meeting with the Parliamentary Group leader of the Democratic Party, Eduard Paloka, and Edmond Spaho of the Integration Commission.

The Democratic Party has not answered if they will meet with the High Representative while their leader is excluded.
