The implementation of the judiciary reform was the main topic of Federica Mogherini’s agenda in Tirana.
Both official press releases of the President and Parliament Speaker focused on the need to base the judiciary reform on the Constitution and make it credible.
Mogherini discussed the same topic with the opposition leader, but she made the message public from the office of Prime Minister Rama.
“I have been very clear with what I said. Those who are trying to delay the reforms, are risking the EU integration”, Mogherini said.
The visit of the EU Foreign Minister comes before the Parliamentary session of this Monday, when Albanian MPs will vote for the Vetting Commission, a process that cannot be done without the opposition.
Mogherini was very clear about this: “I was very clear that the Parliamentary boycott would stop Albania’s progress in the EU. This comes in a time when your country really has the chance to progress”, Mogherini said.
Mogherini was so clear that Prime Minister Rama had nothing to add.
