During her Balkan tour, the EU High Representative gave recommendations tailored to the actuality of every specific country she
visited, but one message was equal to all:
“Balkan’s integration is a priority for the European Union. Cooperation between these neighboring countries remains an important element for their economic development”, the message said.
“Our commitment is total. I am sure that the EU integration will bring benefits not only to the countries of the Balkan region, but also to every EU member”, Mogherini added.
Mogherini added that the stability in Balkan is very important for the Union, because peace in Balkan means peace in Europe.
“Economic cooperation will help stabilize the region, same as it helped the EU for the past 60 years. Not only in the economic aspect, but also by reinforcing ties between nations”, Mogherini reminded.
Her tour comes in a moment of tensions, while Russia insists to raise its influence in the region. Moscow’s diplomatic offense is giving results, since most of Serbs see Moscow as a more reliable ally than NATO, which Belgrade wants to join one day.
