Mogherini: “Concrete progress with Balkan’s EU integration within this term”

“All of Balkan will be part of the EU”, declared the Chief of EU
Diplomacy, Federica Mogherini, during the strategic forum in Bled,
Slovenia.
The European Chief diplomat has always been a strong supporter for EU integration of Balkan countries.
“We are working hard to offer an accession perspective to each Western Balkan country”, she said, reiterating that Balkan is part of Europe, and its nations deserve the same opportunities, safety and rights as every other citizen of the old continent.
“For me it is clear that Balkan should be part of the European Union”, Mogherini declared.
“I’ve made it a personal goal to have concrete progress of our six Western Balkan partners with their EU accession, by the end of the current European Commission term. A progress that will make their path towards EU irreversible”, Mogherini said.
The European Chief diplomat added that there have been several moments of serious crises in the region, but these countries were able to overcome them and continue with EU progress.
