The EU General Director for the Enlargement of Western Balkan, Pierre
Mirel, declared that he has considered as positive the establishment of
the Commission for Parliamentary and Electoral Reform, and the passing
of laws that required qualified majority.
During a joint conference with the Albanian Minister of Integration, Majlinda Bregu, Mirel asked the continuity of the political dialogue in order to fulfill the reforms needed for the EU membership.
We have seen commitment in the war against corruption. Politics must vote for removing the immunity of high rank officials”, Mirel declared.
The EU high-rank official underlined that it is necessary to have a wide consensus among the parties, adding that more commitment from the state administration and the entire politics is needed for realizing the action plan.
Mirel stayed in Tirana for the meeting of the Stabilization Association Committee. Earlier the day, Minister Bregu expressed her pleasure that the Commission had valued the work of the Stabilization Association Committee.
