The show “Fiks Fare” on Top Channel broadcasted this evening the case of Lirjon Kulla, whose mother says that he was unfairly deprived of his disability pension.
12-year-old Lirjon has been diagnosed with Hyper-Bilirubin encephalopathy, and that for this diagnosis he has been the beneficiary of state assistance for 12 years, which was discontinued in May of this year by the agency’s offices in Vlora.
For this reason, the mother of the 12-year-old addressed this office with several requests to understand the reason for the removal of the assistance, but no response was given.
The amount they received from the state is 22,000 lek (€230), which includes the carer payment, as his mother is the guardian.
Lirjon’s diagnosis includes special services, visits to the physiotherapist and speech therapy sessions. Visits that must be made often to improve the condition of the 12-year-old, services that are paid for by the family members themselves.
In addition, Lirjon’s mother says that the way he is fed has additional costs.
Fiks Fare journalists inquired at the Vlora Regional Office, where in their response they said that Lirjoni was a beneficiary from 2012 to 2023. But he was no longer declared a winner due to the lack of two medical consultations in the latest documentation.
In order to be a beneficiary again, Fiks Fare helped the 12-year-old to redo these consultations and complete the file. Fiksi provided these consultations with two specialists in Tirana.
Lirjon’s parents thank the investigative show “Fiks Fare” for helping Lirjon regain the financial assistance for his disease, which was suddenly stopped after 12 years.
