After the Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, said the Karpen Port
investment is a corruptive affair, the Minister of Economy said this is a
malicious move by the opposition that damages Albania’s image with
foreign investors.
The Minister clarifies that the government will be transparent and will fully protect the country’s interest with the negotions of this port. “Different from the time when Berisha gave preferential concessions that went against the public interest.
The Minister said the complex port will create an economic zone, a Thermocentral, and so far three ministries involved have only asked Parliament the right to negotiate and no agreement has been signed so far.
The Minister specifies that this project could be the biggest of the past 25 years, bringing 70.000 jobs to Albania.
