The Minister of Transportation, Sokol Dervishaj, said that negotiations
for a private management of the Nation’s Road are about to be complete.
The government will cover losses if traffic is under the promised level, but, according to the Ministry, it will not be taken from the budget, because the cost will come after the concession is operative.
The government is negotiating with the “Catalyst” consortium, which has several Albanian companies in it. 17.6 billion ALL of investments are foreseen for the next year, which will conclude already started projects.
As for the Arber Road, the government is looking for a possible concession deal.
The rehabilitation of the Tirana-Durres highway is an important project for 2017, and the 11 million EUR project may start this Spring.
Dervishaj said at the Commission of Economy that there is still nothing concrete about the possible Karpen Port concession.
