The gun possession law was amended last year, but the Constitutional
Court repealed some the amends and the Minister of Justice, Ylli
Manjani, was forced to draft a new law.
Manjani says that after studying the Constitutional Court verdict, with the concerns raised by the Prosecutor General and some Courts, and after verifying some errors in the recent amends, he reviewed the law in order to treat all concerns. After receiving the opinions of the Prosecution, government and interest groups, Minister Manjani says the law will be sent for government approval and Parliament.
The law amends were repealed by the Constitutional Court, which created confusion in practice, while the Ministry if working for the new criminal code.
