Minister of Interior: “MP Strazimiri handed gun over”

“The good news is that Strazimiri handed over the gun. At least he is not still illegal and I hope that he will save us in the future the violent attacks against police, with armed MPs. All MPs and officials must hand over their guns. We don’t need armed MPs. The law provides them guns only when they are in danger”, Tahiri said.

MP Strazimiri did not deny or even admit he had a gun during the protest at the Tirana Artificial Lake.

MP Ristani, when asked if Strazimiri’s mandate as MP was at risk for violating the gun possession law, said that this is a media lie. “The picture doesn’t show that Strazimiri is armed. It could have been a cell-phone holder. There are no facts because there was no gun”, he said.
