Minister of Interior: DP, absurd accusations

The Albanian Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, reacted after the
accusations of the Democratic Party, which said that the government has
protected the gang of Emiljano Shullazi through its structures.

Minister Tahiri declared on Facebook that the government’s job is to fight illegality and crime, and they are fulfilling their role for preserving the rule of law.

“The time when criminals were untouchable and had protection from the government has ended once and for all. The absurd accusations of the Democratic Party are what they used to practice. They think that the same thing is going on today. They are used to defend the crime, not the rule of law. This is why they called ‘bandits’ the police officers who fought in Lazarat. Today, once again, they sided with the crime, not the rule of law. They left a destroyed and criminalized police, and all that has remained to them now is to make politics with unheard slander. Slander that show more about their criminal practices when they were in power, rather than the truth of today’s fight without compromise against crime. Let the police do its job, let them fight illegality and criminality. Enough with the politics of crime”, Tahiri declared.
