The Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, explained today in Parliament
the government’s decision to reduce VAT on tourism from 20% to 6%.
“Tourism has turned into one of the main contributors for economic growth in Albania. For this reason, the government believes that we need to promote a serious fiscal relief, from 20% to 6%”, Arben Ahmetaj declared.
The decision was greeted by business associations of this sector. The Minister added that the new measure will increase profits that will return into investments and increased formalization.
