The Albanian Minister of Finances said the government will mobilize
private capitals to fund 700 million or up to 1 billion USD during the
next 2-3 years, for public works on infrastructure and tourism.

Private investments would be covered by the budget, while the law allows the government to pay up to 5% of budget revenues for concessions.

“Everything will take place within the macroeconomic framework. No deficit will be increased. On the contrary, it will be lower. The debt will also be lower”, said the Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, adding that the idea for the package came from the Prime Minister, and that its purpose is to bring back a faster economic growth in Albania.

“Our economic growth predictions for this year are still 3.3% or 3.5%, and with this package we aim to take it to even 4%”, Ahmetaj declared.

The Minister of Finances said that the economy has left the crisis, and the best evidence for this are the evaluation of international markets for Albania.

“The Eurobond today is at 3.1%. This shows how markets see us”, Ahmetaj declared.
