Minister of Education on new law for teaching religion: “No preaching, just cultural view”

Secularity will be strongly protected, although the teaching agenda will include some hours on religious culture.
“These are not religious lectures, because the Albanian school is secular and this will be strongly preserved. This is related to a specific teaching about the history of religious cultures, it is not about religion”, said the Minister of Education, Lindita Nikolla.
The pilot project will start on September and will be implemented in five schools and five high schools. No text is ready, but they will cooperate for this with the Observatory of Laicity in France, Minister Nikolla said.
