The Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Enterprise,
Milva Ekonomi, visited Slovenia today as part of the official delegation
for the Strategic Forum of Bled, led by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Mrs. Ekonomi met with the Slovenian Minister of Economy and Technology, Zdravko Pochivalshek.

The Minister valued the fact that the legal base of the cooperation between our countries is wide and extended in several areas of economic cooperation. The Minister praised the cooperation memorandum signed between AIDA and SPIRIT on June 2014, as an instrument that may encourage trade exchange and mutual attraction of foreign investments.

As for the presence of Slovenian businesses in Albania, and vice versa, both Ministers agreed that this effort should be followed by more intensive B2B activities.

This presence may be easier with the development of a future meeting between the two chambers of commerce.

Both Ministers also discussed about increasing activities in tourism.

The introduction of “Tourist Albania” by the National Tourism Agency, in presence of Slovenian tour operators and tourist agencies in Ljubjana, helped sharing information about Albania between Slovenians. Minister Pochivalshek promised to help increasing Albania’s recognition as a tourist destination even in the future.

The Albanian Minister of Economy expressed her readiness, together with AIDA, to welcome and introduce the Slovenian business with the opportunities that exist in Albania for investments.

Minister Ekonomi thanked Minister Pochivalshek for the support the government of Slovenia has given with Albania’s EU integration so far, and expressed her gratitude for their will to cooperate with the EU funded programs.
