Minister of Culture monitors Labova Church restoration

The Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro, and Prof.Pirro Thomo, inspected
this Monday the restoration of the Labova Church in Gjirokaster. The
200.000 EUR fund will bring back the old cultural values and tourism to
the church.
“The dome is inclined, that’s why the restoration process will not be easy. But I want to thank the Labova community who have a special merit in this project. Together with them and the Regional Directory of Gjirokaster, we worked hard to take care of this church and promote its values. This is a treasure of the Albanian cultural heritage for its history, architecture and as a tourist attraction”, Kumbaro said.
The Minister added that the road leading to the church is also being restored.
The Minister announced another project, called “Gjirokaster Churches Itinerary “, which will cover restoration of many churches in the region.
