The Albanian Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro Furxhi, started her
two-day visit in Brussels with the inauguration of the “Allegoria”
exhibition, a cooperation of a Belgian sculptor with Albanian painter
Dastid Miluka. This exhibition displayed a summary of his work in these
three years.
“I have the pleasure to start my official visit in Brussels for meeting Commissioner Vassiliou and other high-rank officials of the Directory of Culture, with a visit at the recent art exhibition of Dastid Miluka, the Albanian painter who lives in Belgium and who has been successful for the past 10 years. Besides my personal enjoyment, this is also a support of the new policy held by the Ministry of Culture, which is the establishing of a synergy between the Albanian artists who produce and who are very successful outside our borders and on the international scenes, and the Albanian artists who live in our country. We have already started this from day one and today we are sharing with painter Miluka the enjoyment and love for his painting, his achievements and values, which our public should also get to know. I invite Mr.Dastid to come to Albania in the first moment that will be appropriate for him”, the Minister declared.
“This is an exhibition that marks the end of a series of displays that I have had in the past two or three years. This is the final one. I have chosen the three main elements for this: masks/portraits, sceneries and nudes, all mixed together between surrealism, cubism and the usage of strong colors”, painter Dastid Miluka declared.
The 39-year-old has been living in Belgium since 2003. Besides Brussels, Anvers and Bruges, his works have also been displayed in the neighboring countries, France, Germany and Netherlands.
