The Minister of Agriculture sent samples to the reference center in
Italy for analyzing the level of pesticides in strawberries.
The Minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti, said that the results will be published right away and will be compared with the test made by the institution of the Food Safety and Veterinary.
“The level of insecticides and pesticides is much lower than the maximum allowed. We have sent samples to the Italian government, but the results will come in a matter of days”, Panariti said.
A lab will be opened in Lushnje, the heart of Albanian agriculture, a request that has been made by farmers for years.
“We will use a series of equipments in Lushnje, but the most important is the human factor. We will involve young peopled who have studied for chemistry”, he added.
The Minister says that the special lab will serve for monitoring agricultural inputs, seeds and for advising farmers how to not allow toxic elements reach the product.
