The Albanian Minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti, declared that the
government will start orienting investments in the agricultural sector
by supporting the production of cultures based on a regional map.
The Minister says that this will increase agricultural production and will enlarge the map of exports that is currently extended in 20 countries.
“We have noticed a significant increase of the production of fresh produce, 14% more than the last year. The agro-processing sector has exported 5% more”, Panariti declared.
“We have farms that have one hectare of land, or even less. This is very difficult for foreign investors, and that’s why farmers should cooperate with each other for competing in the market”, declared Zenel Hoxha, chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce.
As for the agricultural production quality, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture proposed the creation of a private veterinary service with access at the Ministry’s database. The Minsiter says that this will do the job that has not been done by public institutions that penalize the export of dairy and meet products.
