Minister of Agriculture in Lushnje: “Guarantee fund for farmers”

Farmers told the Minister that the collecting points agree with each other to fix a price. They asked for the situation to come to an end.

A representative of the collectors justified the problem with the blocking of exports. Panariti told farmers that the Ministry is working for a mechanism that will decide a reference price.

“We and the collection points need to agree for a basic reference price, under which no one can go. We should follow the European model, where producers are protected”, Panariti said.

The Minister said that they will also take measures for those collectors who lie about prices and who will create a solidified fund that will be kept from them if they don’t pay farmers back.
