Minister of Agriculture announces increase in Albanian exports, promises more fuel subsidies for farmers

The Albanian Minister of Agriculture Frida Krifca promised today at the international fair “Days of Agriculture 2023” in Lushnja, that this will be the year of agriculture.

“The first three months of the year have closed with a record increasing figure compared to last year, with 500 million dollars in agricultural exports. While this three-month period has increased by 7.6% in quantity, and over 18% in financial value”, said Krifca for the audience.

She added that at the end of this spring, agro-processors will have the opportunity to apply to the IPARD III program, which will inject 146 million euros of subsidies into Albanian agriculture, with the sole purpose of increasing the quantity and quality of products ‘Made in Albania’.

“This time the farmers will receive the funds of the national scheme faster than ever.

On Monday, over 2,000 farmers should get ready to withdraw oil for free”, added Krifca.

“Starting from next week, we are ready to distribute the subsidies for the ‘National Scheme 2023’, there are 2000 cards printed for the oil subsidy scheme, so we will continue until we reach the end”, explained the minister.

From April 27-29, more than 60 different agricultural entities from the country and Europe will be at the Lushnje fair to conclude various commercial agreements, with the aim of increasing the farmers crops and collectors increasing the number of agricultural exports.
