Interior Minister Taulant Balla congratulated the police forces after the arrest of the 24-year-old in Lezhë, who was caught with two remote control mines which he had hidden in his body.
Balla congratulated the officers, while adding that the criminal elements should be hit by the police without stopping.
Arkil Selimi is the man arrested today by the Lezha police, as two remote control mines were found on him.
As can be seen from the recorded footage, the suspect was standing on the side of the Fushë Kruje-Lezhë road, in order to sell mines to criminal groups.
“Congratulations to the Lezhë State Police for the timely arrest of a person involved in the trafficking of explosive materials/devices. Criminal elements/groups must be followed by the State Police day and night!”, the minister wrote.
The Police Services located the suspect near Milot, where during the physical check 2 remote control mines with C4 explosives were found hidden in his body.
From the investigations so far, it is suspected that the suspect assembled the mines himself, with the aim of selling them to criminal groups.
In cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office, work continues on the complete documentation of the circumstances of the case.
