Only one mine in Bulqiza has considered the May 1st, international workers’ day, a holiday. The others kept working.
Former miner Ferit Sinani says that May 1st used to be celebrated, then there were protests, but now there is nothing. “Workers have been oppressed by all governments”, he says.
The Bulqize miners, who know about the difficult conditions in the Gallery, May 1st should have been a day of protest.
