One miner was severely wounded after an accident took place in the Bulqize Mine this Thursday.
|The accident took place at the central part of this mine, which is administered through concession by the ACR Company.
Sources say that the wounded minor is Sadik Shyti, 43. The police confirmed that the incident happened at level 14 of well 1.
His colleagues say that a massive of stone material detached from the walls and fell over the miner.
It is suspected that the cause of this accident might be the low safety of the working conditions, affected by the amortization and failure to invest for improving the mine conditions.
After his severe conditions were verified at the Bulqize hospital, Shtyi was urgently sent to the Tirana Military Hospital through a helicopter.
Shyti is one of the 700 miners who held a 3 week long hunger strike for a wage increase and for improving the working conditions in 2011.
