Meta’s request, USA: “Investigation up to Albanians”

One day after Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta made a request for an
international investigation with the assistance of the USA for the “CEZ”
case, Top Channel asked the US Embassy if they would offer this
assistance. But their spokesperson says that the Albanian Prosecutors
and plice are the only ones responsible for these investigations.
However, Roberts says that the US will continue to support the law-enforcing agencies of Albania in their efforts to increase their capacity and effectiveness. The Embassy offers expert advises through the OPDAT office.
The USA seems to have removed the desires of Ilir Meta and Sali Berisha for an international investigation regarding the CEZ issue. The USA have kept distance from delicate Albanian judicial cases. They have only assisted with scientific experts, as they did for the bullets that killed the January 21st protesters and for the Prifti-Meta video.
