Meta-Yee, June 21st elections, key moment in integration process

In this meeting they declared that keeping the highest standards for the elections is key for the European Integration of Albania.

Meta declared that the majority is showing maximal will for an European climate of the local elections, and that they welcome a constructive engagement of the opposition until the end of the electoral process.

Meta expressed his gratitute for the US support to the European perspective of Albania in these important moments of progress. He underlined that the majority is determined to progress with the major reforms that are needed, especially in the judiciary, which is closely related to the fulfillment of the five European Council priorities for Albania.

Mr.Yee valued the progress of Albania during the past year. He underlined that the US support Albania’s efforts to address the major challenges related to the fight against corruption, organized crime, and more integrity of the political representatives in the local and central governments.

Meta and Yee discussed the developments in the region, and shared the conviction that peace and stability of Western Balkan requires an acceleration of the Euro-Atlantic agenda of all countries.
