The President said that he doesn’t understand the majority’s effort to remove him from his post when he has offered his resignation if that would help to resolve the crisis.
He underlined that the local elections in Albania will be held on a later date, but he didn’t specify when.
Meta reiterated his decision to repeal the decree that sets June 30th as the day of local elections.
“I took the right decision to avoid a civilian conflict. The republic is not monist. The institutions cannot be captured by the majority and they cannot be delegitimized by the opposition”, the President said.
