The Socialist Movement for Integration leader, Ilir Meta, met with the
names that will represent this political force in the Rama government
this September.
Meta gave a press release for the media after the meeting, saying that the government program will be made public on time by the next Prime Minister, and commented the difficult financial situation of the state budget.
“The public finances have degraded to a dramatic point, especially during the months before the electoral campaign and only in function of the Democratic Party’s campaign. However, I am sure that there will be full transparency of the financial situation, and that the next government will face this delicate moment with success, and will take the necessary steps for stabilizing it on time, in order to fulfill the electoral objectives in the next four years”, Meta declared.
The names of the next cabinet, published by Rama a few days ago, have been attacked by the current Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, and the new Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha. Meta declared that Berisha needs some mountain holidays, which are more relaxing, and commented the accusations about the cleansing of the administration.
“I have heard complaints for cleansing by the new Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha. There has been no cleansing example than the one that the Democratic Party undertook when we left the coalition, even by the Mayor of Tirana. We did not complain and did not create any office of complaints. It is not about a cleansing, but about administration reforms that will answer to the pace of the new government. It is a pitty that the Democratic Party leader speak only about the government that will run the country after one month, as if it had started its job on June 23rd”, declared the Socialist Movement for Integration leader, Ilir Meta.
Meta appealed the Democratic Party to take its own responsibilities and turn in to an opposition that will be an alternative to the government. He spoke about irresponsible decisions taken by the incumbent government before the June 23rd elections.
“Our country needs an opposition that competes the government with alternatives, not by losing every sense of responsibility to our country, which has been noted by some irresponsible and not transparent decisions taken after the June 23rd elections”, Meta declared.
As regards the Ministries that the Socialist Movement for Integration will lead, Meta added that those have been made according to a political definition, and that the Socialist Movement for Integration sees the government as a team.
“We had a division according to the political division of the Ministers, regarding the fact that the Socialist Movement for Integration doesn’t have any minister leading the same ministries of the past four years. This has been a right and rational solution, and comes in function of the future transparency. During the past four years the Socialist Party has been in opposition and was harsher towards the ministries led by the Socialist Movement for Integration then those led by the Democratic Party. This was my request, and it is positive and ethical. As regards the ministers, those represent them with dignity, but we see the government as a team, and this is what we need to reach our objectives”, Meta declared.
