Meta: SP coalition is solid and long-termed

Rama declared that this agreement would turn the sovereign right to the Albanian people to govern this country.

Rama declared that they agreed for a pact that starts with a series of principles, based on the will to realize deep reforms in economy, independence of institutions, improvement of the citizens’ life and a key role in the regional cooperation.

During his speech, Rama underlined that the new life of Balkans should show what we are preaching: peace, stability, good neighborhood, regional cooperation in function of the citizens’ life and that supports a new generation for the regional countries.

“We cannot preach the peace of the new times for the region, and nourish the old ghost of Balkan nationalism. After the June 23rd elections, nationalism will be part of the archives. We want Albania to be not a propaganda slogan, but a political project of a special importance in a fruitful cooperation in the region, in order to guarantee stability as the basis to economic and social welfare for the people who live in this part of Europe”, Rama declared.

Meta: Koalicioni me PS, solid dhe afatgjatë

The Socialist Movement for Integration leader, Ilir Meta, declared that the June 23rd Elections are a test for the future of the country.

“The Coalition with the Socialist Party is natural and will be solid and long term. I want to thank our European friends who advised us to leave the past behind and focus on the future”, Meta declared.

Meta underlined that in this time of crisis, Albania needs a government model that secures employment and economic growth by enlarging the social programs.

“Our progressive alliance will know how to answer to the challenges of the future. Albania must leave the economic transition behind and focus on the economic revival. We will work to create a society that is more fair, more equal and that stays loyal to the social-democratic values, in order to realize the aspiration of all Albanians and get integrated in the European Union”, meta declared, saying that Shkoder, where this conference is being held, will be the starting line of the victory path in the June 23rd Elections.

The Rama-Meta agreement will be signed under the presence of the European left Mps, Tanya Fayon, Kristia Vigenning, Richard Howid and Knut Flenkstein.

The Socialist Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration were reserved on the content of the agreement, which, according to them, is based on the European social-democratic values, and that will be reflected in the government program.

SP allied with UHRP

The head of the United for Human Rights Party, Vangjel Dule, accepted Edi Rama’s invitation to become part of the left coalition.

Rama and Dule held a conference for the press, where they confirmed their agreement, what the opposition leader called “Alliance for European Albania”. Rama and Dule gave no details about the specifics included in the agreement reached by them.

“I am very happy that together with my colleague, Vangjel Dule, the leader of the United for Human Rights Party, we agreed to be part of the same coalition, Alliance for European Albania”, Rama declared.

“Our cooperation has started several years ago and this reinforces it. This is the best moment for our country and our citizens to realize the much awaited rotation, which will open the path to the European family. This cooperation will have its contribution”, Dule declared.

Sources from the Socialist Party declared for Top Channel that the Social-Democratic Party led by Skender Gjinushi will also finalize its agreement with the SP this Tuesday.

The position of the Red and Black Alliance led by Kreshnik Spahiu remains unclear. It is still unknown if they will join the left coalition or if they will run alone on the elections.

Rama signs with Meta today

The leaders of the Socialist and Socialist Movement for Integration parties will sign today about their cooperation in what they will call “Alliance for European Albania”.

The opening speech will be held by the Socialist International, Sergei Stanishev, through a video conference from Brussels.

The agreement will be signed on 17:30, in the presence of the European MPs Tania Fayon, Kristia Vigennig, Richard Howind and Knut Flekenstein.

SP and SMI are very reserved about the content of this agreement, which, according to them, is based on the European Social-Democratic values, which will be reflected in the government program.
