Ilir Meta’s visit to Slovenia was not the only reason why the president did not appear before the Assembly Committee on his dismissal.
The President sent there a letter with the reasons why he does not intend to respond to the call of the Commission of Inquiry.
“As a one-party assembly under the dictation of the Socialist leader, you want to continue the farce launched by his order to cover up the election massacre, but the Head of State, as a representative of the unity of the people and guarantor of the Constitution, has the obligation to continue the smooth exercise of its constitutional function, ignoring any request coming from an unconstitutional and illegal body, which you have named the ‘Commission of Inquiry’ “.
The dismissal of the President revolted the most Spartak Braho, former collaborator of Ilir Meta, now a deputy in the ranks of the Socialists.
“He says in the letter he does not recognize the parliament, this is a coup against the assembly that elected him,” said Braho. The commission gave the head of state until Monday to appear in the Assembly, meanwhile they were also asked to review the decrees returned by Ilir Meta.
