After the accusations against President Ilir Meta that he is stepping beyond his official role with the commitments in the election campaign, the latter has reacted through a post on social networks, emphasizing that April 25 will be a Referendum which will overthrow the oligarchic clique that deceives the Albanians.
Meta added that the public engagement of the President of the Republic in defense of the Constitution and free vote is a horror for the opponents.
“They think they can stop the President from doing his constitutional duty to protect the free vote of the Albanian citizens, which is their power and future.” writes Meta among other things.
“The referendum of April 25 will overthrow the oligarchic clique, which has been ripping and deceiving Albanians for a long time. Their horror is the public commitment of the President in defense of the Constitution and the free vote. Therefore, with lies orchestrated by the chief oligarch and made public in the media captured by him, they think that they will stop the President from doing his constitutional duty to protect the free vote of the Albanian citizens.
“In vain they tire with slander, blackmail, intimidation, arbitrary fines, fabrication of false polls to demoralize citizens to vote, or the purchase of ‘opposition’ members who have never defended the public and national interest but who think only of the next ‘meal’.
“Albanians will vote on April 25, 2021 for their freedom and dignity, as never before in these 30 years. On April 25, 2021, Democracy will triumph over oligarchy and citizenship over stupidity.
“The president has only one vote, like every citizen of this country, and he will vote against the oligarchy, which has violated the Constitution, the laws and human rights, and which is holding hostage the country’s European future,” Meta wrote among other things.
