The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, declared in a reception with foreign Ambassadors to Tirana that Albania expects to open the EU accession negotiations next year.
“It is of a vital importance for Albania and for the entire region, to have an all-inclusive agenda with encouraging deadlines for EU accession”, Meta declared.
The President said that the citizens of Kosovo deserve free movement, same as other countries of the region. He said he trusts that local authorities will take the necessary steps for the conditions that need to be fulfilled.
Meta spoke about the killing of the Serbian politician in Kosovo, Oliver Ivanovic: “The barbarian killing of Ivanovic is an attempt against peace, stability and co-existence in Kosovo and our region. Finding the authors of this crime is urgent not only for justice but also to prevent any destabilizing scenario”, Meta said.
The President appreciated the law for the Albanian language in Macedonia, although it wasn’t decreed by President Ivanov.
