The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, has started a two-day visit in Kosovo, where he met with his counterpart Hashim Thaci.
The visit started with a meeting between both Presidents, and then between the respective official delegations.
Meta and Thaci gave a joint press release for the media, with President Meta focusing on the visa liberalization for Kosovo. He said that it is unfair that this decision has been conditioned with the border demarcation with Montenegro.
“Relations with Montenegro are excellent, but the demarcation issue will be resolved with maturity. EU must not forget that the enlargement policy has been the accelerant of transforming processes. This policy must continue. Kosovo has fulfilled the visa liberalization conditions”, Meta said.
The next meeting will be held with Prime Minister Haradinaj, Speaker Kadri Veseli and Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli.
The first official visit in Kosovo of President Meta includes visit at the grave of Ibrahim Rugova and the Adem Jashari memorial in Prekaz-Skenderaj.
