The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, participated in the 71st
anniversary of the Peza Conference and declared that this should serve
to everyone to be united.
“We must keep take clear messages from the Peza Conference. The unification and cooperation is on our country’s interest”, Meta declared.
The Peza Conference was held on 16 September 1942, some kilometers from Tirana. It is known in the history of the Albanian people as the first pluralist Parliament. Protagonists of this Parliament were representatives of different districts of Albania and religious leaders.
In this conference they discussed the organization of forces in a joint war against the occupator, an organization that later received the name “The National Liberation Front”.
