The leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ilir Meta,
underlined the importance of the law that lifts immunity for the EU
candidate status, and appealed for the realization of other necessary
reforms.
“The law should be followed by other immediate steps, such as the parliamentary regulation reform, the Supreme Court law and other initiatives that clearly show the political will for continuing with the reforms and fulfilling the other commitments that derive from them and the entire EU integration process of our country”, Meta declared.
At the same time Meta rejected the voices saying that the coalition with the Democratic Party has had some ruptures, a thesis assumed several times due tot eh opposing positions of the SMI at the Municipal Council, the abstaining at the Parliament voting for freeing the residences of former owners and other stances when this political force did not have a unified vote with the DP.
“We have respected all agreements with the DP. Certainly that for some matters we had our own opinion or our convictions for the solutions that can be offered. But I think that the coalition has worked in the most stable way”, Meta declared.
