Meta and Prifti at court

But the Court declared that the names of the experts, and if they will be Albanians or foreigners, will be announced in the next session that will be held this Monday. Present in this process there was the first defendant of this case, former Deputy Prime Minister Ilir Meta.

MP Dritan Prifti and four other businessmen responded to the Supreme Court as witnesses. The Prosecution declared that the testimony of the four businessmen is as important as that of MP Dritan Prifti.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Meta gave his generalities to the Court and afterwards, the defensive lawyer Gezim Veleshnja spoke on his behalf. The Supreme Court accepted only one of the requests of the defense, that of giving them a copy of the video registration transcript. But the Court refused to call as witness Deputy Minister Leonard Beqiri, who appeared in another video that was discovered by the US expert.

The Court declared that since the expertise of the US investigator was declared as invalid for the first video, the second one was automatically excluded from the evidence list for this case. Since the court was postponed to the beginning of the next week, none of the witnesses testified in this session. Outside the Court, Dritan Prifti reconfirmed his determination to continue with the process.

“I came here to make my duty as a citizen. I don’t know what has happened in the courtroom, but I will come here each time  that they will call me”, Prifti declared.

Meanwhile, Ilir Meta accused the prosecution of undertaking intentional biased actions, referring to the fact that the second video was withdrawn.

“The unprecedented action of the Prosecution, is not strange to me. It was made for the sole purpose of giving new favors to Dritan Prifti”, Ilir Meta declared.
