The German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, declared that Albania, Serbia and
Bosnia-Herzegovina have a good perspective to join with the Eu. Merkel
says in her weekly video-message that these countries have made
progress.
“Despite the difficulties, these countries have made progress”, Merkel said a few days before her visit in these three countries.
She said that only through the perspective for EU accession there can be a distinction between the rival countries.
The German news agency, DPA, writes that between Serbia and BosniaHerzegovna there are still conflicts after the breaking up of Yugoslavia in the ‘90s. Former communist Albania and Serbia also have diplomatic conflicts on Kosovo”.
The German news agency writes that Merkel is expected to address the issue of the dramatic raise of asylum seekers from the region. The German chancellor said that they will address the poor situation of the Roma in the region and their discrimination. Merkel’s visit is expected on July 8th.
