Merkel: “A vision of hope for Balkan”

Merkel said she is looking forward for the Trieste meeting, where the parties are going to talk about a vision of hope for the entire region.

“We underline once again our support for these countries during their EU integration process, since it is clear there is interest from other countries who want to increase their influence in the region”, Merkel declared.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister noted the importance of having these countries integrated in the EU, and that Bulgaria’s geographic position allows to do more for Balkan to progress.

“There should be a clear perspective for the normal common citizens of Balkan. They must know about it, since they will be member of the block one day. They will be free people enjoying all the rights coming from EU accession”, Borissov said.

The German Chancellor said that the cooperation between European countries is very important, especially now that Great Britain left the union and with the complicated geopolitical situation.
