Mental illness patients abused by care takers, forced to abort

A two-week investigation of the Shkoder Prosecution concluded with the
arrest of the Director and a nurse of the Social Development Center.

They are suspected of power abuse and violence against mentally ill patients. Three of the female patients in this center were pregnant and have been forced to undergo abortion.

The Shkoder Prosecution has found guilty citizens Juliana Cepi, Director of the Center, and Aida Ymeraj, nurse. These citizens are taken under police custody.

Investigations are undergoing to identify the violence cases and the responsibilities of the employees involved, whose negligence has caused the pregnancy of females patients and the illegal abortion.
