After meeting with different investors from the Rinas area, the Albanian
Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared that the agriculture sector has
grown and the government considers the Rinas area as a very significant
contribution.

“Agriculture needs more investments to support one of the most important sectors of the economy. Agriculture is a source of stable economic growth”, Rama said.

Rama underlined that bad loans are a problem, now going to the level of 28%. “But we have worked with the Bank of Albania and reduced them at 20%. Banks have never had problems with loans given in villages. The Albanian government wants to increase the crediting level for agriculture. We have administered budgets that help agriculture. We need to reinforce enterprises that have a financial need to fulfill all the links of a cycle that starts with the farmer and concludes with sales”, Rama added.

The Prime Minister invited other investors who might invest in agriculture. The government was determined to change the approach to this sector. They promised to keep increasing funding for agriculture.
