The Albanian Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli, is attending a meeting
of Central European Defense and Interior Ministers in Vienna.
The topic of this meeting was illegal immigration in the “Western Balkan Corridor”.
Minister Kodheli said the meeting has a special importance, since illegal immigration is becoming each day more present in the inter-state agendas of ally countries.
Kodheli updated her counterparts with the concrete measures that will be undertaken by Albania, in case of a migratory flux.
She also explained how the Albanian Armed Forces are assisting NATO operations by patrolling the Aegeian Sea.
The Minister spoke about the work that has been done so far for establishing NATO’s Excellency Center in Albania, which will treat the foreign-fighters phenomenon. This center will serve to the entire region.
