A meeting was organized this Tuesday for the protection of children from
violence. The Deputy Prime Minister, Niko peleshi, asked the
coordination of policies for protecting minors from abuses.
“Protecting our children is the asset with the highest cost, but protecting them from abuses and violence is an investment for the future”, Peleshi declared,
The second person in charge of the government underlined that violence against children is related to the economic-social problems that Albania has today, adding that the lack of education is violence against children which imposes ignorance to them.
The Minister of Social Welfare, Erjon Veliaj, declared that children who are brought to the streets are in a very bad situation. According to him, the reporting of paedophilia remains a taboo for the Albanian society.
“There is no bigger priority that addressing matters of abuse against children”, Veliaj declared.
