A medieval ottoman tablet at the Lezha Castle entrance has been damaged
by unidentified persons, while specialists from Shkoder have removed it
for restauration.

The Culture Monument Institution lab has taken the object and the Ministry of Culture says that the artifact has lost some parts of the letters.

The tablet was placed in 1552, when the castle was repaired. The object was discovered in the 70s and had been preserved for a long time at the Lezhe Museum.

The writing, which says that the city’s castle has been repaired by Sultan Suleiman, has caused debates between the residents, who want to remove it, while experts want to keep it.
